ASICS Men's Gel-Venture 8

The ASICS Men's Gel-Venture 8 has been updated with a more accommodating forefoot fit, while reducing the amount of overlays around the area. The outsole is more durable with a traction pattern that's been improved through re-engineered lugs. Crafted with durable manmade mesh uppers and abrasion resistant overlays, this shoe offers a secure lace-up closure for a snug fit. Fabric linings help keep feet cool and dry, while the removable EVA sockliner contours to the shape of the foot. The rear foot GEL cushioning system assists in absorbing shock for a smoother transition.

Designed for the trails, the Trusstic System in the Gel-Venture 8 reduces the weight of the sole unit while retaining the structural integrity of the shoe. The trail-specific outsole features multi-directional lugs to provide excellent traction.

Regarding foot types and pronation, there are three main categories to consider:

Underpronation (Supination): The outside of the heel hits the ground at an increased angle with minimal pronation, causing shock to the lower leg. During push-off, the wearer experiences pressure on their outer toes. This foot type is associated with conditions like plantar fasciitis, shin splints, and ankle strain, and is characterized by high arches.

Neutral Foot Type: The foot lands on the outside of the heel and then rolls inward, absorbing impact on the body. The wearer experiences even distribution of pressure from the front of the foot during push-off. This foot type is less likely to sustain injuries due to effective shock absorption, though it is not impossible. Normal-sized arches are typical of this foot type.

Overpronation: The foot lands on the outside of the heel and then rolls inward, transferring excess weight. During push-off, the wearer experiences pressure mainly on the big toe and second toe. This foot type is linked to issues like shin splints, plantar fasciitis, bunions, and heel spurs, and is characterized by low arches or flat feet.
